Often non-commoditized by virtue of customization, intellectual property or black art, solving customers problems in a way that not many can.

Non-Commoditized Mission-Critical Industrial Services
Often maintaining, preserving and optimizing the performance of customers’ valuable industrial assets At times, these services are performed for process plants during turnarounds, requiring the core competency of building a sufficient army of properly trained people (including safety training), equipped with the right equipment to perform a critical job well, safely and on-time. It is costly for such assets to be down, and companies who can perform these often technical but down-and-dirty jobs are paid well for doing so.

Enthusiast-Driven Branded Consumer Product Niches
Non-commoditized products where the enthusiasm felt by the consumer affords one the opportunity to build a cult following for a superior product that supports their passion. Examples have included auto aftermarket (6 platforms to date), hunting products, other esoteric sports and hobby products, patented & prescribed prenatal vitamins, and pet products.

We invested half of the firm in these gents because of their ability to roll up the sleeves in support of portfolio company managers and help to optimize various functional areas, build enduring value, while building lasting friendships.

• A wealth of industry familiarity and strategic relationships, having been principals in over 130 acquisitions and majority recapitalizations in 60 industries to date. Additionally, we have relationships with thought leaders in many industry niches who help us to get smarter faster about industries, and who can be quite helpful in growing portfolio companies.

• A can-do attitude coupled with uncommon creativity and flexible resources to get deals closed. Mangrove can bring to bear creative financial engineering if needed to ensure that deals close, even when financing is challenging.

• Due in large part to our internal operating partners, Mangrove is also able and willing to work through industry or company complexities that require research/fact based decision making and a holistic view regarding opportunities. Mangrove is about finding a way to get good deals done.
